As a humanist celebrant I write and conduct a range of ceremonies to mark all the familiar rites of passage encountered in life. Based in the village of Torphins most of my work is done in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen, however, I am happy to travel throughout Scotland.

All my ceremonies are grounded in the humanist philosophy although I do draw on a wide range of influences for inspiration, including folk and pagan traditions. As a result my ceremonies can be moving and meaningful and appeal to audiences of all backgrounds and faiths without being religious.

Browsing these pages will hopefully give you some idea of the scope and style of my work, there are sample scripts and a some photos of ceremonies I've conducted. There are also collections of poems, suggestions for music and links to other sites that might be helpful in preparing your ceremony.

As well as my work as a celebrant I am also a partner in Platform 22 a gallery and coffee house located in rural Aberdeenshire. The gallery sells a selection of locally produced artworks and working with my wife Emma, a ceramicist, we produce commemorative gifts and a range of greetings cards sold as Humanist Cards

I hope that you find something of interest on this website and if you need any further help please feel free to phone or email me. Alternatively, if you are passing through Torphins do call in to Platform 22 and discuss your requirements over a coffee; we are open Tuesday to Saturday between 10 am and 5 pm.
